Amazing man, best controller ever seen, well done!
so you master leds arrays an all the stuff really cool.
Im curious as well on how the triggers swich works,
it’s it camera based or what is the system?
I wondered how much of the computer screen you use? To me the movements of the hands showed a few “counting” movements, as if you had double check the right position from screen…
I would love to see an introductory video cause the conclusions I can draw from the video are not explaining everything :)
Besides that, its a really beautiful work, does not fit in every club but when it fits… I bet it rocks :)
I will be posting more videos in due course, got to focus a bit more on actually making music now… As to the ‘counting’, no, the screen is not visible for me when I play. I do not need or use the screen at all, that’s what I built station for, to get rid of the monitor. BTW, the setup does not take up more space than a mixer and two turntables.
Congratulations great work! Trying to make electronic music myself with Ableton and various controllers. Your work is very inspiring (hard and software).
This is fantastic! I’ve seen some music producing tools, but this is awesome. Totally. If is so customizeable than it looks like, I want one. Definitly.
Hey Ander, Amazing Work! This device is just tops man. What kind of buttons and rotary encoders did you use and how to they attach to the device? It almost looks like the buttons are flush with the surface, but I couldn’t get a good look. A how-to or behind the scenes would be most welcome for all of us home-builders of musical stuffs.
Fantastic!!!!
of course like :) btw are those illuminated buttons commercialy available or self made?
It’s all self-made. I did a lot of research on buttons, but there is nothing like that available.
Amazing! Very well done! Can’t wait to see more videos.

@23fx23
Its all traditional hardware, real push buttons and encoders.
@Glen
Yes, all the music comes from Ableton Live

It took me two years to develop the beast, and I stopped counting the money… Could have bought a nice holiday cruise for it, probably. First class :)
That sets new standards. I’m impressed, totally. And the colors are really nice!

I think i speak for many people when i say… Please either make the plans for this available so we can attempt to DIY it too!!
Man, what a cool rig.
I love it!

Also, they’ve got your fabulous creation over on Hack-a-Day: http://hackaday.com/2010/06/12/massive-midi-station-ditches-the-monitor/
Any chance of letting us now how we can build one of these ourselves? It’s so awesome.
I will be posting some stuff on the ucapps.de site. What I recommend: Start with a simple from-the-shelf midibox there. Then move on.
Amazing!!!
That is a lovely bit of kit you’ve made there and I’m digging the track as well. Keep up the good work!
wow! nice!!!
If you realy build this yourself it is incredible beautifull.
Keep up the good work.
